Balfron Depot best in Scotland

FirstGroup’s Balfron Depot in Stirlingshire has been named the company’s best depot in Scotland at an internal awards ceremony. The services provided by Balfron and its 40 employees allow customers in isolated villages to access local shopping, education and leisure facilities, as well as providing commuter links to Stirling and Glasgow. Other Midland Bluebird winners at the award ceremony were Ralph Wardrope from Larbert Depot who was named ‘Engineer of the Year’ and Chris Black from Balfron who received the ‘Quantum Leap’ award for making great strides in his own development. The awards, sponsored by ADL, aim to recognise and celebrate the individuals and teams who are positively delivering for bus customers using First services across the country. The Depot of the Year category was sponsored by Carlyle Bus and Coach, Team of the Year by Transave UK and Voyager Alliance Credit Unions and Engineer of the Year by the FCL Organisation.

First Midland Blue MD, Paul McGowan, said, ‘I’m incredibly proud of the team at Balfron and am delighted to see their efforts recognised by being chosen as First’s best depot in Scotland. The Balfron team has a strong positive relationship with residents and customers and that is down to an incredible amount of hard work to put their needs at the heart of absolutely everything they do. The personal development of Balfron employee Chris Black is just one example of their excellence and I’m delighted to see him recognised for the great strides he has made, along with Ralph Wardrope who delivers safety with professionalism and enthusiasm.’
