5,000th BYD electric bus in Europe
BYD has delivered its 5000th electric bus for Europe to Umove, a major public transport operator in Denmark who will operate it in Copenhagen. The milestone vehicle is also the first BYD eBus B12.b to be delivered in Europe, marking a significant step forward in sustainable public transportation.
The B12.b is equipped with BYD’s Blade Battery integrated with CTC (Cell to Chassis) technology, specifically tailored for the European market. With a battery capacity of 491kWh, it offers a range of up to 600km on a single charge and can accommodate up to 105 passengers. Each battery cell pack functions as a structural beam, enhancing torsional stiffness while lowering both vehicle weight and the centre of gravity. The innovative design also reduces battery space usage by 50% and cuts overall vehicle weight by 10%, resulting in improved range and greater energy efficiency.
