2015 ‘most successful year’ for Daimler

‘2015 was the most successful year in the history of Daimler AG,’ said Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG, Dr. Manfred Bischoff, at the company’s recent Annual Shareholders’ Meeting in Berlin.

With a total workforce of 284,015 (2014: 279,972), the Group sold more than 2.9m vehicles worldwide (2014: 2.5m), posted revenue of €149.5bn/£119.85bn (2014: €129.9bn/£104.14bn) and achieved EBIT of €13.2bn/£10.58bn (2014: €10.8bn/£8.66bn).

For the year 2016, total unit sales are anticipated at the prior-year level.

The division expects moderate growth in Western Europe, an ongoing positive development of unit sales is expected in Mexico and a further decrease in unit sales
in Brazil.
