UrbanThings adds mobile ticketing to UK Bus Checker
Transport tickets can now be purchased using UrbanThings’ UK Bus Checker app.
Now in its tenth year, the app has had its latest version introduced, which includes ticketing, multi-modal journey planning and RTI, as well as user interface enhancements.
Reading Buses, Midland Classic and Hattons Travel are among the first operators to retail their mobile tickets in the app adding a new revenue stream to their business, with more in the pipeline for early 2022. Bus Checker will also complete its integration of UK Bus Open Data Service (BODS) in the coming months.
“This is the biggest change we’ve ever made to Bus Checker” – Carl Partridge, CEO at UrbanThings
Carl Partridge, CEO at UrbanThings, said: “This is the biggest change we’ve ever made to Bus Checker. Our mission is to make travel simple and we’re excited to offer passengers an app where they can plan their journey, see real-time information and buy their tickets, all in one place. At a time when the industry needs to work together to encourage patronage, we’re delighted to offer operators an additional retail channel. With 1 million active users in the UK, operators can sell their tickets in an app that their passengers are already using.”
