First gets new Chair

FirstGroup is appointing Lena Wilson CBE to its Board as Chair. Her new role starts on 1 February 2025.

Former Chair, David Martin, retired from the Board at close of business yesterday (10 September 2024) and until Lena joins the Board, Peter Lynas the Senior Independent Director will act as Chair of the Board. Lena’s appointment follows a comprehensive search process.

Lena is an experienced director and Chair having held roles on listed and private companies for over a decade. She has served on the boards of Scottish Power Renewables and Intertek Group and chairing AGS Airports. She was Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise from 2009 to 2017 and before that, was a Senior Investment Advisor to The World Bank in Washington DC.

Lena is currently a non-executive director and Remuneration Committee Chair at NatWest Group and also the Chair of Picton Property Income.
