Disruption to online driving licence access

The DVLA’s View Driving Licence (VDL) and Share Driving Licence (SDL) services will be disrupted during the following times: Friday 23 October 21.00 to 07.00 Sunday 25 October, Friday 30 October 21.00 to 07.00 Monday 2 November, Friday 13 November 21.00 to 07.00 Monday 16 November.

During this period, the DWP systems which integrate with DVLA will be unable to verify NI numbers. Although drivers affected by the disruption period will not be able to create a new check code during this period, the ‘Check Driving Licence’ online service will continue to operate. Drivers will not be able to use their NI number to access the VDL and SDL service during this period. DVLA’s Premium Line and Contact Centre will continue to operate as normal during their standard opening hours (Mon-Fri 0800-1900, Sat 0800-1400).
