Coastliner 700 improved

Stagecoach has announced some ‘significant enhancements’ to the Coastliner 700 service between Brighton and Portsmouth. The improvements include more double deckers; a new timetable intended to improve punctuality; more buses between Bognor Regis, Chichester and Portsmouth, an increase in frequency from Littlehampton to Arundel and increased control using real time tracking of the 47 vehicle operation. Stagecoach is confident the changes starting 4 May 2014 will improve the travel experience for customers and attract new users. The better punctuality is enabled by a division of the route into three sections with through passengers changing at Littlehampton or Chichester. Changes to the service were sparked by customer requests and survey responses. The route has been operated since 1975, evolving to reflect changes in travel habits and growing residential areas.
