Bedford bus station opens

Bedford’s multi-million pound bus station has brought improvements including an award winning revamp of Allhallows Car Park, the New Greyfriars surface car park, new paving, seating and tree planting, enhanced shop fronts and better disabled access. More improvements are also planned on surrounding shops together with a new departure hub including a satellite waiting area with real time information screens at the front of the new bus station.

Mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson, said ‘The new bus station is the central feature of an extensive programme of regeneration work, and represents a major improvement for the town centre and for bus users. It will provide modern, comfortable facilities, with clear and up to date information on services. The opening is great news for bus users and great news for Bedford Town Centre.’
