Yorkshire Rider rides again

First has re-painted one of its current fleet in the distinct green and cream livery of the former Yorkshire Rider operation. This marks the 20th anniversary since the buses were last operating in Leeds. The Volvo double deck was hand painted by the team at the Hunslet Park bus depot and has been named in honour of Leeds transport historian, Brian Parkin, who passed away in January, aged 81. It will operate on routes across Leeds.

Operations Manager at First’s Hunslet Park depot, Chris Powell, said, ‘It’s important we recognise the great tradition of our bus industry as well as introducing the fantastic new benefits for customers such as mobile ticketing and low emission buses. We’re also privileged to name the bus in memory of Brian who was a well known figure in transport in Leeds.’
