Xelabus’s ‘major changes’

Xelabus of Eastleigh is to make what it describes as some ‘major changes’ to services from 23 June 2014. The popular X7 service between Eastleigh and Chandlers Ford is to double in frequency from hourly to every 30 minutes during the day. Its X3 service between Eastleigh and Asda will be diverted to serve Boyatt Wood, giving residents a new service to the large retail store. It will introduce the new Service X4, running from Eastleigh to Hedge End serving Barton Peveril College, Parkway, Mansbridge and West End. During the daytime, buses will also enter Haskins garden centre car park. The operator has teamed up with Haskins to offer each passenger a voucher for a free drink. Xelabus will be operating all services to Barton Peveril College from the same date.

MD of Xelabus, Philip Blair, said, ‘These changes just go to show how much we learn from our customers on travel requests within the Eastleigh area. Chandlers Ford getting a 30 minute service will provide more capacity on this growing route, especially with demand being very high from the Velmore Estate. Residents from Boyatt Wood have requested a service to the large superstore and the X3 will fit the bill. However we are very excited about our new X4 service which will replace the Velvet A route and give customers a more reliable service to and from Hedge End.’
