Volvo trio completes Golden Tours order

London based Golden Tours has taken delivery of the final three of eight Jonkheere bodied B11R coaches it ordered. Each vehicle features 53 seats, a toilet, TV screens, a CD/DVD player and a servery. They are powered by 11-litre Volvo D11C six-cylinder engines driven through I-Shift gearboxes.

Golden Tours’ Andy Bassom said, ‘They offered the right quality, at the right price. Around two thirds of our total fleet is Volvo manufactured. We wanted to expand our services and the B11R was the ideal vehicle to allow us to do that. Volvo’s backup and support provided by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre, Hayes, was also a key factor in our decision to specify Volvo, considering the amount of miles that our vehicles cover annually. Volvo Regional Coach Sales Manager, Jo Standbridge helped ensure the purchase of our new B11Rs was a smooth and successful process. We will certainly be specifying Volvo again in the future. Passenger comfort is obviously always a key consideration for us. We’re delighted with our new vehicles.’
