trentbarton’s 100th birthday run

A fleet of vintage buses retraced the route of the first trentbarton services as the company celebrated its 100th birthday earlier this week. The buses ran between Derby and Ashbourne and Derby and Nottingham, exactly 100 years to the day after the launch of the Trent Motor Traction Company. During the event, the company was raising money for its chosen charity, the Lewis Mighty Fund. It also gave away £100 to ten lucky customers. trentbarton Commercial Director, Alex Hornby, said, ‘The name may have changed and the network has expanded across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and beyond, but we can trace our roots back to a very special day in 1913.’
