Transdev brings back Boxing Day buses

Transdev is running special services in Lancashire on Boxing Day, bringing back buses on this day for the first time in five years. It is to run buses between Burnley and Manchester, Blackburn and Manchester and Blackburn and Darwen. The X43 Witch Way between Burnley and Manchester, the X41 Lancashire Way between Blackburn, Accrington and Manchester and the 1 Lancashire United between Blackburn and Darwen will run half hourly from 09.00 until 18.00 on Boxing Day. On Christmas Eve, December 29, 30 and New Year’s Eve, Transdev will operate a Saturday service, with exceptions on some routes. The last bus on Witch Way X43 from Manchester to Burnley will be at 23.00. On Monday December 28, a Sunday service will operate. Normal service will resume from 4 January.

Chief Executive at Transdev, Alex Hornby, said, ‘Feedback has shown us that our customers need and want public transport on Boxing Day, and we’re keen to meet that need with buses running on our most popular routes across the network.’
