Thamesdown changes

Thamesdown Transport has announced changes to its management team. Engineering Director, Nigel Mason, who has been with the company since starting as an apprentice in 1971, is taking early retirement. Thamesdown’s Financial Controller, Cliff Connor, joins the Board of Directors in Nigel’s place.

David Spencer, currently Engineering Services Manager, has been promoted to the new post of Head of Engineering. He will now be in charge of the Engineering department. Reporting to David will be Ken Hawkins, currently Technical Assistant, who has been promoted to the new post of Engineering Manager. Ken will be in day-to-day charge of the maintenance of the company’s fleet and will be the line manager for the engineering staff. Nigel Peart, currently Engineering Supervisor, has been promoted to the new post of Assistant Engineering Manager and will provide support for Ken. He will also continue to manage the Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) the operator runs for VOSA.

Nigel Mason had been Secretary of the Affiliated Engineers Committee of ALBUM since 2004.
