StreetLites for First Scotland East

First Scotland East is introducing five new Wrightbus StreetLites for its services in Livingston. They form part of a total order of 31 new vehicles which is being introduced across the east of Scotland after the operator announced it was investing £6m in upgrading its fleet earlier this year. The new single deckers have leather seats, CCTV, Wi-fi and wheelchair and pushchair spaces. They are being used on routes 20, 21 and 22, which link Livingston, Broxburn and other towns and villages in West Lothian with Edinburgh. The new Euro6 buses are all DfT ‘low carbon certified’.

MD of First Scotland East, Paul McGowan, said, ‘It’s great news for our customers to see these new vehicles take to the road. We’ve made a significant amount of improvements in our West Lothian services. Last year saw us launch our ‘Pioneer’ branded vehicles on Services 20, 21 and 22 and this further boost to the fleet will be just as welcome I’m sure. These additional vehicles take our investment in West Lothian alone to over £4m in the space of 12 months, underlining our continuing determination to provide ever better bus services in our area and encourage more people to travel by bus.’
