Stagecoach invests in Eastbourne

Stagecoach in East Sussex has invested £1.3m in 11 new ADL Enviro200s for its Eastbourne Loop service. The circular route serves the town centre, hospital, Willingdon Trees, Hampden Park, Winkney Farm and Langney every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday. The new buses are bigger than their predecessors with interiors that are better designed for accommodating pushchairs and carry a new livery. A launch event was held for them at the RNLI Lifeboat Station at Sovereign Harbour. The company is letting local residents try the new buses at a discounted rate by distributing travel vouchers offering £2 day tickets or £4 family tickets to almost 30,000 households in Eastbourne.

MD of Stagecoach in East Sussex, Philip Norwell, said, ‘This investment demonstrates our commitment to providing quality bus travel in Eastbourne as well as helping us reduce our carbon footprint. The new bus fleet is great news for Loop passengers, particularly for those who are disabled or are parents with young children, as the new interiors provide more room for wheelchair users and pushchairs.’
