Silent Bus Sessions

Zara Larsson, a top Swedish singer, has performed onboard one of the Volvo 7900 Electric Hybrid buses used on the ElectriCity route in Gothenburg. Zara’s performance was part of the Silent Bus Sessions, a promotion of ElectriCity, the city’s new electric bus route. The service has been open since 15 June and has three completely electric buses and seven electric hybrid buses. The Silent Bus Sessions were produced to demonstrate how quiet running the new electric buses are.

Chief Sustainability Officer, Volvo Group, Niklas Gustafsson, said, ‘Rising noise levels represent a serious health problem in metropolises around the world. That’s why we’re convinced that electric public transport in cities is the way forward. But a real difference can only be achieved if there is collaboration between vehicle manufacturers, urban planners, public transport, energy companies and academia. This collaboration is the unique strength of the ElectriCity project.’
