RATP Dev’s solid growth

RATP Dev, French parent company of Bath Bus Company, Yellow Buses, Epsom Coaches, London United and Selwyns Travel, has announced financial results for the half year. Stating that it had experienced solid growth, group revenue for the six months ended 30 June 2015 amounted to €2,824m at 30 June 2015, a 5.6% improvement over 30 June 2014. One of the noteworthy events for the company in the first two quarters was the acceleration in the Bus 2025 plan, which projects a staggered switch to 100% green buses for the entire fleet by 2025 (80% of electric buses and 20% powered by biogas). It claims this will make RATP the world leader in ‘clean’ buses. 523 hybrid buses have already been ordered, with 51 hybrids in use on 1 September 2015. RATP Dev said its international growth can be attributed to several operations in 2014, including the acquisition of London Sovereign and The Original Tour in London.
