Radcliffe bus station work begins

Work to build Radcliffe’s new bus station has started. Contractors Bethell Construction Ltd have now cleared the Dale Street site, which was previously a car park. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and Bury Council have been working in partnership to develop the enhanced facility in Radcliffe town centre, which aligns with the Radcliffe Town Centre Masterplan and the council’s regeneration aspirations for the town. When completed, it will replace the current station. It is intended to provide increased levels of comfort and security, with purpose built shelters and CCTV. Funding is being provided jointly by TfGM and Bury Council and the project is scheduled for completion in late 2015.
