Plaxton Open Weekend

Plaxton Coach Sales held its Open Weekend on 22 to 23 March, which marketing Manager, Andy Warrender, described as a ‘very worthwhile event’. Andy said it was a ‘good weekend’ with plenty of vehicle sales made and a reasonable amount of business left to follow up courtesy of the two days. A number of special offers were available, including an 07-plate Caetano Levante Volvo B12B with 49 seats, air conditioning and wheelchair access, priced at £59,500. Another stand out offer was an 06-plate Jonckheere Mistral on the Volvo B12BT fitted with 57 recliners, a centre mounted toilet, drinks facilities, a DVD player and an air conditioning system, which had a price tag of £79,500.

As well as the dealer’s extensive second hand coach range, there was also a selection of used buses to view. Finance experts were on hand to assist during the weekend. There was also a special offer of 10% off Plaxton coach parts during the event. Apart from being a little overcast on the latter part of Saturday, the weather was good.

Andy said attendance was pleasing, with a satisfying split of visitors over the Saturday and Sunday. There was a ‘good geographical spread’ saw representatives from operators from as far afield as Wales, Ireland and Scotland. Interest was well spread across the spectrum of the dealership’s range on display. At the time of going to press, the oldest sale made was a 2001 registration coach, with the newest sold being a 2009 plate. Andy said, ‘It was a very worthwhile exercise. The market has been encouraging. There were a number of sales made that we may well not have done if we had not held the Open Weekend.’
