BYD biggest EV seller

In a global electric vehicle (EV) ranking, BYD Company Ltd has been ranked first in sales in October for the sixth consecutive month since May. It has sold a total of 6,099 EV units. The figures are also a watershed for the company because for the first time it ranks first in accumulated sales throughout the year, with a total of 43,069 EV units sold, a 222% surge compared to the same period last year.

Bus branding subject of BBC show

The BBC programme ‘Oxford Street Revealed’ will screen an episode dedicated to the wrapping of a London bus. This episode will air on Friday at 11.00 on BBC1 and be available shortly after on iPlayer. Filmed in September, the episode focuses on the team at Exterion Media and Stagecoach placing an advertising wrap on the vehicle.

Kayak sponsor free NYE travel

TfL has teamed up with travel search engine KAYAK.co.uk to provide free New Year’s Eve travel this year across their transport network, so that partygoers can get home safely after the celebrations. It is part of TfL’s wider plans to generate £3.4bn in non-fare revenue by 2020/21 to reinvest in the running and modernisation of the transport network. TfL and KAYAK.co.uk will launch a joint advertising campaign to promote free travel on New Year’s Eve.

Director of Commercial Development at TfL, Graeme Craig, said, ‘Our partnership with KAYAK.co.uk will ensure that revellers will be able to welcome in the New Year knowing that they will be able to get home safely and for free. We look forward to welcoming everyone to London’s celebrations and encourage customers to plan their journeys in advance so that they are aware of all their travel options. The partnership is another example of how we are seeking to generate vital revenue to reinvest in the transport network for the benefit of our customers.’

Diary Date – LCV2016

Cenex’s annual Low Carbon Vehicle Event, LCV2016, will again take place at Millbrook near Bedford, on the 14 and 15 September 2016. Last month’s LCV2015 event attracted over 2,850 attendees and 211 exhibitors and had 103 vehicles on display – 60 of which were available to ride and drive.
