New Wrightbus International MD

Wrightbus International, the international arm of Wrights Group, has appointed John McLeister as its MD. John has been with the company since 1990, holding various positions throughout the organisation including Production Manager, General Manager of Metallix and most latterly, New Product Development Director for Wrights Group. John commenced his new role when the previous holder of that post, Damian McGarry, moved to head the Customcare aftersales division on 1 August 2016.

Wrightbus International was established as a separate division of Wrights Group in 2012. It was created to drive forward a number of initiatives in key overseas markets. Since its inception, it has increased the company’s ‘international footprint’ with the establishment of offices in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Hong Kong, Chennai and Kuala Lumpur with manufacturing capacity in Malaysia and India.

Chairman and CEO for the Wrights Group, Mark Nodder OBE, said, ‘John McLeister will head our international expansion strategy in emerging markets including our significant tangible relationships already in place in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, India and UAE. John has gained a broad experience of our business throughout his career and this gives him a sound knowledge and unique ability to adapt the local business model and technology to interface on global territories.’
