New local operators for Showbus award

A new set of operators are now eligible for the Showbus ‘Best Local Operator’ award. The event is to move to Stratford-upon-Avon for the 2013 edition, meaning companies in Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, the West Midlands Metropolitan area and Rutland can now enter for this particular award. Those wishing to take part in the award can enter at showbus.com or request an entry form by email or post.

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the BMMO SOS type bus, two examples will pose together at Showbus, each forming part of their Museum’s display. The Aston Manor Road Transport Museum, owner of a Trent SOS, and BaMMoT at Wythall, owner of a Midland Red SOS, are both putting on displays from their museums. They will be joined by a display from the Oxford Bus Museum. This year’s event is on 22 September and takes place at Long Marston Airfield, Campden Road, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 8LL. If you are operating an excursion to Showbus or Stratford that day, the organisers would like to know so they can publicise it on their website.
