New £5m Stagecoach Midlands depot

Stagecoach Midlands has moved into a new depot at Trident Park, Warwick, replacing the site on Station Approach in Leamington which has been vacated to make way for housing developments. The new building, built by Deeley Construction, results from partnership working between Warwick District Council, AC Lloyd, Waterloo Housing and Stagecoach Midlands. It has capacity for 88 buses, 140 drivers and 30 engineering and administration staff. It features six inspection and maintenance pits, a bus wash, electric vehicle charging bays for employee cars, intelligent heating, energy efficient internal and external lighting and sustainable materials throughout. Buses running from the site are expected to cover 3m miles annually. The depot was officially opened by Traffic Commissioner for the West Midlands, Nick Denton.

Stagecoach Midlands MD, Steve Burd, said, ‘We are delighted to announce the opening of the our new Leamington depot, which will provide bus services in Leamington, Warwick and the surrounding areas for many years to come. The new facility has been built to high environmental standards and provides much improved engineering facilities. I would like to thank Warwick District Council, Deeley Construction and Waterloo Housing for all their help and assistance in this important transport project.’
