New £2m Radcliffe station

A new £2m bus station for Radcliffe has been made possible thanks to a funding partnership between council and transport leaders. Bury Council’s cabinet has agreed to provide £1m for the project, which has been matched by £1m from the DfT. The development is part of a package of regeneration schemes for the town.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) Committee Chair, Cllr Andrew Fender, said, ‘This is a real positive for Radcliffe and the surrounding area as the new development will not only provide a new, modern and attractive bus station but will contribute significantly to the town’s exciting regeneration proposals. The new facility will be a real improvement for passengers and will be able to accommodate both Ring and Ride services and a growth in the number of services that currently use the facility.’
