More morebus at W&D after ten years with Go-Ahead

Ten years after the Go-Ahead Group acquired it, Wilts & Dorset’s managers have highlighted the fact passenger numbers have grown. Instead of instantly re-branding the operation following its take over, Go Ahead’s Southern Regional Management (Go South Coast) slowly phased the change to its new morebus identity. According to Go South Coast MD, Andrew Wickham, the introduction of the new brand to services between Poole, Bournemouth Castlepoint and Christchurch in 2005, with a £4m investment in new buses, proved to be very popular with customers and would be bus users, seeing passenger numbers increase year on year.

Marketing and Communications Manager, Nikki Honer, said, ‘The new brand shows that we are committed to offering a better, reliable service. Recently we have introduced the morebus branding to most of our routes in the Wimborne, Corfe Mullen, Canford Heath and Turlin Moor areas. We have just transformed our Route 13 from Bournemouth – Ferndown – Wimborne which offers a bus every 30 minutes to morebus branding. It is imperative that we update routes with modern buses and clear bus stop based signage and information backed up by easy to use websites, to ensure that bus travel becomes more appealing. With government funding cutbacks we need to encourage more customers to keep services commercially sustainable. Thanks to our drivers, we now receive fewer complaints and more compliments than in previous years. They deserve the praise for a difficult job which they, as professionals, make look easy. They deserve to look smart and professional.’
