MAN’s first quarter

MAN Group’s order intake in the first three months of 2015 was €3.8bn/£2.7bn, up slightly on the prior year figure (€3.7bn/£2.65bn). The company posted sales revenue of €3.1bn in the first quarter, roughly on a level with the previous year. Sales revenue at MAN Truck & Bus rose by 13% to €2bn/£1.43bn in the first quarter of 2015.

MAN received 1,184 bus orders in the first quarter of 2015, down 26% from the 1,596 ordered in the same period last year. Buses sales represented €322m/£230.49m worth of revenue for the company, up 40% from the €299m/£214.02m made last year. There were 1,213 bus sales made in the quarter, up 67% from last year’s 727. Bus operations made an operating loss of €8m/£5.73m, up 16% from Q1 2014’s loss of €24m. In the European bus market, MAN Truck & Bus had a market share of 11.1% (previous year: 10%) three months into the year.
The Executive Board of MAN SE is maintaining its outlook for full year 2015 and expects the MAN Group’s sales revenue to be on a level with the previous year and that operating profit will remain stable.
