MAN ups group operating profit as buses fall

MAN has released its financial figures for 2014. At group level, the company increased its operating profit in 2014. This is attributable to the significantly improved profitability of its large motors and machines business. In truck and bus business, the order intake value of buses rose to €1,497m/£1,070m (2013: €1,332m/£952.8m) representing 5,682 units (2013: 5,368 units). However, sales revenue for buses fell to €1,294m/£925.2m (2013: €1,334m/£954.3m) with 5,025 units delivered, down from 5,294 in 2013, accruing an operating loss of €65m/£46.5m (€63m/£45.1m).
