Lothian wins ‘green’ award

Lothian Buses has won the Sustainable Development prize at this year’s Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. The operator has invested £18.5m into environmental improvements, which includes the introduction of 60 diesel electric hybrids to its fleet since 2014. Two thirds of its 700 strong fleet is now at Euro5 standard or above.

General Manager of Lothian Buses, Jim MacFarlane, said, ‘We are delighted to have been selected as a winner in this category and thank the Chamber for recognising the work we’ve been doing to ensure our services are of a consistently high environmental quality. Lothian Buses is committed to serving communities throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians, with environmental impact a key pillar in making sure we succeed in this.’
