The Loop’s success

The First Midland Bluebird operated ‘The Loop’ tourism service in Falkirk has carried 15,000 passengers since its launch in April. The Scottish Government funded bus service connects the town’s tourist attractions with other road and rail services over the summer season. The pink bus provides an hourly service and takes in The Falkirk Wheel, Falkirk High and Grahamston Stations, Falkirk Town Centre, Falkirk Stadium, Callander Park and The Kelpies. It has dedicated bus stop signs featuring VisitFalkirk branding to help signpost visitors to the route. It is free for children aged under five and for those aged over 60 with a valid Scottish Government issued concessionary travel pass. For others, an all-day ticket for the ‘hop on, hop off’ service costs £5 with a £12 family ticket for four, which can be used across other local Midland Bluebird services too.

First Midland Blue MD, Paul McGowan, said, ‘We’re delighted so many people have chosen to travel on this new Loop service. I’m sure it will continue to go from strength to strength.’
