Ipswich Buses take over from First

Ipswich Buses has stepped in to serve some areas that had lost a bus service following the withdrawal of a First route in the area. The move followed First’s decision to withdraw service 55 from Bixley Farm to Central Ipswich via Foxhall Road. With funding from Suffolk County Council, the municipal operator is to serve Bixley Hall Farm and Broke Hall with an early morning service (Monday to Saturday) at 07.16 to Ipswich after being contacted by concerned residents and present bus users who would not able to get to work. The new service will start on 5 January 2015.

Ipswich Buses MD, Malcolm Robson, said, ‘It is unfortunate that sometimes services are withdrawn, but Ipswich Buses are happy to be able to provide support and services to our local residents who need it.’
