Harry Shaw selects Scania again

Coventry based Harry Shaw has taken delivery of a new Scania OmniExpress to replace an identical vehicle purchased by the firm three years ago. The 14m vehicle is based on a Scania K 400 EB6x2*4 chassis equipped with a 400hp Euro5 Scania engine and the latest generation of the manufacturer’s fully-automated Opticruise gear-selection system. It has 55 half-leather trimmed reclining seats, three-point seatbelts, a DVD Player and two monitors, a centre sunken toilet, a climate control system and a drinks machine.

Director, John Shaw, said, ‘The vehicle will be used mainly on our own Spanish holidays, so we specify a longer length with only 55 seats to give passengers extra comfort. The vehicle is a straight replacement for our three year old Scania OmniExpress tri-axle coach. The back up we receive from Scania made choosing the same model again an easy decision.’

Scania (Great Britain) Ltd supplied the coach.
