Go South Coast’s £10m ADL deal

Go-Ahead Group subsidiary, Go South Coast, has concluded a £10m deal with Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) that will see the introduction of 49 vehicles during the course of the next nine months. The new vehicles include 32 Euro6 Enviro400s, 17 of them high specification inter-urban vehicles that will run between towns and cities on the south coast. They will feature tables on the upper deck, Wi-Fi, USB charging points, high back seats, mood lighting and wood effect floors. Three further high specification Enviro 400s fitted with multi-lingual commentary systems will operate on tourist journeys to Stonehenge, while 12 10.9m examples will run on urban and inner-city routes in the region.

The Go South Coast order includes 12 11.5m Enviro200 midibuses with 39 seats, plus one 8.9m Enviro200 that will join other short length vehicles operating on the Isle of Wight. Completing its acquisition programme for 2015-16, the operator will introduce four Plaxton coaches that will operate as part of their Damory and Tourist brands. These will be 12.6m Elites on Euro6 Volvo B11R chassis. They will have 51 seats, centre sunken toilets and DDA compliant lifts.
