Gardiners NMC has signed a deal with Epsom Coaches to continue operating its holiday and day excursion programme after it closes on 24 June 2017. Following that date, the Epsom based business will be brought under direct management of RATP Dev London, with its bus operations renamed Quality Line.
This most recent deal sees Melanie Cox and Alistair Scott of Epsom Coaches join Gardiners NMC along with reservation staff and two Setra coaches, which are to be put into the livery of their new owner. The Epsom Coaches customers have all been informed and assured they will enjoy the same tours, coaches, staff and the same phone number. Gardiners NMC has put a large selection of the tours back on sale and the existing bookings have been transferred over to the new owners.
MD of Gardiners NMC, Adrian Smith, said, ‘I am delighted to announce that Gardiners NMC has secured the future of the Epsom Coach Holiday and Day Excursion programme. Whilst unfortunately the Epsom Coaches name will be no more we are proud to expand the Gardiners NMC name, our new office in Epsom will be run and operated by the former Epsom Coaches team led by the well-respected Melanie Cox and Alistair Scott.’
NMC Tours Ltd was founded in April 2008 by Glenn and Adrian Smith following the sale of their former company, Northumbria Coaches, to Go North East. The father and son retained the coaching element of the business and based themselves in a double fronted shop in Newbiggin by the Sea. In May 2008, it acquired Gardiners Travel of Spennymoor, creating Gardiners NMC. A relocation to Ashington town centre came in 2011 and a further move took place in 2013, when it took on a new garage and offices in Coopies Lane Industrial Estate, Morpeth. 2014 saw the coaching and holiday sides of the business amalgamated under one company name, Gardiners NMC Ltd.
