Future Sprinter strategy

Mercedes-Benz Vans has announced plans for a €450 million investment in its Dusseldorf and Ludwigsfelde plants to produce the next generation of Sprinter vans. In the Düsseldorf plant, €300 million will modernize the body shop, the paint shop, and the assembly line for closed models, expanding its role to be the model’s global centre of competence. €150 million will be invested in open model production at the Ludwigsfelde plant south of Berlin. Around 2.5 million Sprinters in more than a thousand variants have been sold across 130 countries since the model’s launch in 1995. It is also assembled in Argentina, China and Russia with a new plant proposed to meet growing demand in North America.
