Fernhill’s new Volvo

Fernhill Luxury Travel from Bracknell has taken delivery of a Volvo B11R with Sunsundegui SC7 bodywork. It is powered by a Volvo D11K 430 six-cylinder Euro6 430hp engine matched to a Volvo AT2412E I-Shift fully automated 12-speed gearbox. It has a fully adjustable Isringhausen driver’s seat, an Esteban Guia I courier seat, 55 Esteban Ega Relax passenger seats, an Eberspächer Sütrak air conditioning system, an entertainment package from Actia, a reversing camera, a refrigerator, a courier safe, a demountable centre freshwater washroom with smoke sensor and hand dryer, as well as an integral camera above the continental exit linked to driver’s screen and a hot water boiler. Volvo Driver Support System (DSS) is fitted as standard.

Fernhill MD, Richard Holgate, said, ‘The B11R was the perfect vehicle for our fleet expansion following on from the purchase of a Volvo B8R SB3 earlier this year. We particularly liked the look of the Sunsundegui SC7 bodywork and the B11R chassis is renowned for its impressive fuel consumption, and with 53 seats, the coach ticks all boxes from our standpoint. We were very impressed with the state-of-the art Volvo DSS feature. We welcome any new technologies that help to improve driver safety and that of our passengers and believe this to be an important safety development in coach transport. The new Euro6 coach is low on emissions and with our proximity to London we will need a sizeable percentage of our fleet to be Euro6 compliant going forward.’
