Feet under the table

Mark Williams finds himself with a new ‘baby’ to love and nurture!

Well, after 13 years in the freelance world, it definitely feels good to have my feet back under a desk in an office full of people.
Working for yourself can be a lonely place. The compensation is being able to choose, to some extent, when you work and for whom. But for me, joining Bus & Coach Buyer as its Group Editor is proving that I have something in common with coach and bus operators; I’m a ‘people person.’
I’m so glad that I still have, at the end of a phone, Founding Editor Stuart Jones, whose vision, graft and investment launched Bus & Coach Buyer, and who has steered it so adeptly since. Stuart’s ‘black book’ of contacts is something I’m very jealous of….!
I’ve inherited the helm of a much-loved magazine and I’m aware of the responsibility to handle it with care. But as everyone in business knows, there’s nothing that cannot be improved. Over the next few weeks and months, readers will notice a quiet evolution going on, and the team here at B&CB want to hear what you think.
For now, send me your thoughts direct, to [email protected]. They won’t disappear into the ether; I promise I will respond to each and every person who drops me a line.
