Extend public ownership of buses – Corbyn

‘A Labour government led by me will rebuild and expand the bus network’, Jeremy Corbyn has Tweeted. The Labour leader claims extending public control over the bus network will release £340m of resources per year. He also believes it will allow bus services to be extended, improving rural and more socially useful routes. A comment he posted on Twitter said, ‘Too many areas are not properly covered by bus routes and Tory cuts are making the situation worse. A Labour government led by me will rebuild and expand the bus network so that no area and no community is left behind.’

‘My plan to give bus franchising to local authorities would generate £340m a year,’ he Tweeted.
