Enviro400s for First Bristol

First Bristol has unveiled 20 new ADL Enviro400s for its 48, 48A and 49 Services, each costing approximately £250,000. All 20 buses are fitted with the latest Euro6 engines and start-stop technology, which cuts out the engine when the bus is stationary. The new vehicles mark the latest stage of an ongoing investment programme, which has put 100 new Euro6 buses onto Bristol’s roads over the past 18 months. In addition to the ‘low carbon’ buses with Euro6 engines, the bus company has 26 Euro5 micro-hybrid buses and a further 34 Euro5 buses are in the process of being converted to micro-hybrid.

First Bristol MD, James Freeman, said, ‘These new buses will make a significant contribution towards our environmental performance including air quality in Bristol. A quarter of our fleet now consists of significantly cleaner buses, and the numbers are increasing steadily as part of our longstanding commitment to Bristol, which started when we became a proud partner of the Bristol Green Capital 2015.’
