Enrico Vassallo to leave Optare

Enrico Vassallo, CEO of Optare PLC has announced his decision to ‘move on and pursue other career opportunities’ after two years with the Ashok Leyland owned company.

A release issued by the company said, ‘Enrico has led the business through challenging and demanding times over the last two years and has been instrumental in making the necessary changes, including the recruitment of a new Senior Management Team, which has provided Optare with the foundations for a stronger future.’

It continued, ‘The intention is to appoint a successor and recruitment is now in hand for this. In the interim period Hariharan Krishnamurthi, CFO, has been appointed as the Chair to the Senior Management Team. He will report to T. Venkataraman, Head of Global Bus at AshokLeyland and Non Executive Director of Optare.’

John Fickling, Non Executive Chairman, commented: ‘During a turbulent time in the bus industry, Enrico has led the company with considerable passion, enthusiasm and dedication and we are grateful for his contribution and unswerving commitment. We all wish him and his family the very best for the future.’
