Durham City coach parking closures
Coach operators need to pre-book parking and avoid road closures for the annual Lumiere in Durham
Operators with coaches in Durham City from 15 to 20 November need to plan around road closures for the annual Lumiere.
The festival will take place between Thursday 16 and Sunday 19 November. For all visits, there will be no city centre coach parking available. The Sands coach park will be closed from 00:01 16 November to 23:59 19 November and drop-off and pick-up from bus stops in the city centre (including Sutton Street) will not be permitted during these times.
All of the major routes into the city centre will be designated no stopping/tow-away zones for the duration of the festival. Any vehicles stopping on these routes will be subject to Police enforcement.
For trips to Lumiere, coach parking will be provided at County Hall each day from 15:00. This must be booked and paid for in advance and earlier arrival is not possible. Spaces can be pre-booked by contacting [email protected] or calling 0300 026 5552, requesting further details and a booking form. Spaces and arrival time slots are limited.
