Doyles cease operations

Alfreton in Derbyshire based Doyles Coaches ceased operations on 13 January 2014. Since then, Nottinghamshire County Council’s Transport & Travel team has been working closely with other local operators to secure replacement bus services wherever possible. In Nottinghamshire, Nottsbus is operating a revised timetable on Doyle’s 4 (Mansfield-Mansfield Woodhouse) and 19 (Mansfield-Berry Hill-Mansfield) routes, whilst Stagecoach has taken on its 17 (Oak Tree–Forest Town–Mansfield–Sutton), 18 (Mansfield-Berry Hill-Oak Tree-Crown Farm) and the 145 (Blidworth–Sutton). Littles has taken over its 228 (Hucknall-Bestwood Village–Bulwell), whilst A & S Coaches is running limited timetables on Doyle’s 331 (Selston-Moorgreen-Phoenix Park) and 332 (Eastwood-Moorgreen-Selston) routes. YourBus is also currently running some of the routes. Doyles Coaches started in 1986, when husband and wife team Kevin and Helen Doyle operated a taxi bus under contract to Derbyshire County Council following deregulation. After adding services through the years, the company took on its first contract outside Derbyshire with the introduction of the Eastwood Local Services, replacing a withdrawn trentbarton operation.
