Double success for Stagecoach apprentices

Stagecoach Yorkshire apprentices Sam Harris and Matthew Mallinson were recognised at the company’s ninth annual Apprentice of the Year Awards. Sam Harris, who works as an auto electrician and is in his second year of the apprenticeship scheme, lifted the ‘Apprentice of the Year 2013’ award. He received a trophy, £500 from the Stagecoach Group and a further £500 from Stagecoach Yorkshire. Matthew Mallinson is a fourth year body technician on the scheme and secured second place in the Apprentice of the Year 2013 third year apprentice category. Both Sam and Matthew work at the operator’s Chesterfield depot.

Engineering Director for Stagecoach Yorkshire, Joe Gilchrist, said, ‘We are extremely proud of the two apprentices. They have both shown great commitment to the company which will stand them in good stead for their future careers.’
