Disabled passenger analysis

A study by Transport Focus has suggested 24% of journeys are made by passengers having an impairment, with mobility the most frequent type of impairment. The research, entitled ‘Analysis of bus passengers who have a disability’, shows that mobility issues rise to almost 20% for over 60s, whilst mental health problems peak in the 35 to 59 age group. For those in that age group, their disabilities have the highest impact on their ability to travel.
It was also found in the research that those suffering a disability have a much higher concern about other passengers’ behaviour, with much higher concern amongst younger passengers.
