Diamond takes on Arriva Wednesfield

Rotala Plc has signed a deal with Arriva Plc to take on the majority of Arriva’s Wednesfield operation, including contracts with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM). It is to take over the operation from 23 April 2017. Under the deal, Rotala’s West Midlands subsidiary Diamond Bus Ltd will take on nine vehicles together with the TfWM contracts currently operated by Arriva Wednesfield. TfWM has consented to the novation of the bus contracts, which expire on 21 October 2017. The estimated revenue for the remaining six months of these contracts until expiry is £600,000. Arriva will continue to operate services 10 A/B and 335 which will transfer to other Arriva depots in the Midlands. Rotala will offer employment to every other member of the Arriva Wednesfield staff.

Area MD for Arriva Midlands (West), Rob Cheveaux, said, ‘There will be no redundancies with some staff transferring to other Arriva depots and the remaining staff being offered employment by Diamond Bus.’
