Consultation period for Albert Embankment coach parking

A temporary coach parking bay on the Albert Embankment has become the subject of a consultation issued by Transport for London, in a view to making it a permanent bay. Earlier this year, a temporary 45 metre off-peak coach parking bay was created on Albert Embankment to replace some of the coach parking on Victoria Embankment that was removed due to the construction of the East-West Cycle Superhighway. The site was chosen because it had existing coach facilities and provides easy access to central London.

The permanent bay would be the same size and location as the existing temporary bay: within the northbound bus lane, outside Camelford House, providing space for three large coaches.
Coach parking will be free for a maximum of one hour during operating times and no return is permitted within a two hour period. No parking will be allowed between 7am-10am and 4pm-8pm, Monday to Sunday to ensure the bus lane is kept clear during peak traffic hours and to be consistent with the other parking bays on Albert Embankment.

Subject to feedback from this consultation, which closes 27 September 2015, TfL would look to formally convert it into a permanent bay before the end of this year.
