CILT success for Arriva Merseyside

Arriva Merseyside’s General Manager at Birkenhead, Len Gibbs, has achieved Chartered Fellow Grade at the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT). Having worked in the bus industry for 40 years, Len has been a CILT member for 14 years. Four of Len’s colleagues in the Merseyside area, Derek Draper (General Manager, Green Lane), Mark Wynne (Operations Manager, Green Lane), Barry Dobson (Service Delivery Manager, Merseyside) and Jenna Smith (Operations Manager, Southport) have all been accepted to the Institute at Full Member Grade. Jenna, who completed the Arriva Graduate Programme, was amongst three finalists for the Young Manager of the Year accolade at the CILT North West Regional Awards for Education, held in Liverpool in June. She was presented with an award at the glittering gala dinner in recognition of her achievement.

Area MD for Arriva Merseyside, Howard Farrall, said, ‘This is fantastic news for Arriva Merseyside, and a great achievement. Membership of the CILT demonstrates a commitment to on-going personal and progressive development and a dedication to best practice. Our congratulations go to Len for achieving Charted Fellow status, Jenna for her recognition at the CILT North West Awards, and Derek, Mark, Jenna and Barry for showing their commitment to the bus industry through Full Grade membership.’
