Cashless buses welcomed

Campaign for Better Transport has welcomed the announcement that buses in London will become cashless from July. The campaign group’s Chief Executive, Stephen Joseph, said, ‘We welcome the move by TfL towards a cashless public transport system. Cashless ticketing can help make London’s transport networks easier and more flexible to use and is popular with many passengers. However, it’s important that TfL make good their assurances that no one will be left stranded late at night because their Oyster Card has run out of credit and provision needs to be made for passengers on buses which cross over TfL boundaries where Oyster doesn’t operate.’
