Busway to both ends of Atherton

It has been announced that the Busway being constructed in the Greater Manchester region will serve both ends of Atherton town centre. The route has been finalised following constructive discussions with local residents, town centre businesses, councillors and bus operators. The busway will open in 2015, connecting Leigh, Tyldesley, Atherton and Salford with Manchester city centre. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) will announce the operator of these services and further service details later this year following a competitive bidding process.
