BUSK Safety Conference

BUSK, the school transport safety organisation, will be running their three day safety conference from 16 -18 March at Lydiard House, Swindon. The conference, sponsored by Alcolock, is for anyone that makes transport arrangements for others, including schools, local authorities that procure transport and the bus and coach industry.

Day one will focus on schools trips in the UK and abroad and will be chaired by Ian Jones of Backhouse Jones Solicitors. The focus will be on driver fatigue and accommodation and BUSK Chairman, Pat Harris will update on their Nightcap campaign. The following day will concentrate on home to school transport and will be chaired by Director of Transport Gateway Reviews Ltd, Trevor Roberts. Speakers include Traffic Commissioner Sarah Bell and Senior Police Crash Investigator, Craig Hardy and will look at the legal aspects and the implications following a crash situation. The final day will include minibus safety, booking transport on-line, bullying/safeguarding, Section 19 permits and an update on infringements. This will be chaired by Director, AMK Chauffeur Drive, Graeme Fraser.
